THE BUMP STEER KIT : Allows Tie Rods to be adjusted downward in extra precise 1/32" (1mm) increments, taking advantage of a wider adjustment range than other kits on the market. Utilizes one of the highest quality alloy steel spherical rod ends available. Teflon/Kevlar lined, full length body, and capable of 30 degrees misalignment, so there is no binding throughout suspension travel or when the car is raised off the ground.
THE TIE ROD KIT: The original factory 911 1974-89 tie rods use rubber dampers which can make steering feel spongy, especially with age. Upgrading to 911 Turbo tie rods will give your car firmer and more responsive steering. Installation is a straight-forward process, and can typically be performed in an afternoon.

OEMatch Steering Track Rods — Fit, Function, Confidence
OEMatch steering track rods for Porsche models are designed as direct-fit replacements engineered to match original dimensions and tolerances. They form a key part of the steering linkage between the steering rack and the wheel hub, helping to maintain consistent steering feel and geometry across a wide variety of Porsche vehicles.
- Complete steering track rods for Porsche applications
- Track rod arms and inner tie rods for steering racks
- Track rod ends and related steering links
Understanding OEMatch Steering Track Rods
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by the same company that produced your Porsche’s original steering track rods. OE (Original Equipment) refers to parts matching original specifications for the steering track rods and may be supplied by alternative manufacturers. Aftermarket parts offer alternative options, sometimes with enhanced features or better value. OEMatch supplies non-OEM steering track rods engineered as direct-fit alternatives to OEM parts, made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances for Porsche models. In a typical Porsche steering system, the track rod connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle at each wheel. This link translates steering wheel input into controlled movement of the road wheels while also allowing the suspension to move through its travel. OEMatch components are made to original-spec dimensions for consistent performance, so they fit original mounting points and clearances and work with factory alignment settings. Many owners search for genuine or OEM steering track rods; these are direct-fit alternatives designed to match the original form, fit and function. By focusing specifically on Porsche applications, OEMatch supports vehicles across different generations, from everyday road cars to more focused models, with parts selected to suit typical repair and maintenance tasks on the steering system.
Benefits Include
- Restored steering feel where worn joints or play have developed
- Consistent geometry to support correct wheel alignment settings
- Direct-fit replacement options compatible with factory steering layouts
- Parts chosen to suit Porsche-specific rack and hub configurations
- Support for routine maintenance as well as more in-depth steering refurbishment
Why Steering Track Rods Wear and Fail
- Normal service wear in ball joints and sockets from constant movement
- Exposure to road contaminants such as water, dirt and salt affecting protective boots
- Impacts from potholes, kerbs or road debris that can bend or stress the rod
- Age-related deterioration of joint grease and sealing materials
- Previous incorrect adjustments or overtightening during alignment work
The Importance of Replacing with OEMatch Steering Track Rods
Steering track rods play a direct role in how precisely a Porsche responds to input at the steering wheel. Wear or damage can show up as vague steering, uneven tyre wear or difficulty achieving correct alignment values. Using steering track rods made to original-spec dimensions helps keep the steering rack, knuckles and suspension working together as intended. For owners maintaining Porsche vehicles over the long term, replacing tired components with correctly specified parts supports predictable handling and helps preserve the character of the vehicle. OEMatch focuses on steering and chassis components selected for Porsche applications, reflecting typical requirements from simple track rod end renewal through to more comprehensive steering overhauls.
Advantages
- Made to original-spec dimensions for consistent performance on Porsche steering systems
- Fits original mounting points and clearances without improvised modifications
- Compatible with factory geometry, aiding accurate alignment work
- Components selected to support both routine servicing and restoration projects
- Single-maker focus from OEMatch, centred on Porsche-compatible parts
Support & Advice
Fitting can appear straightforward but may require specific procedures such as torque settings, alignment, balancing or recalibration. If you lack the correct tools or experience, we recommend professional installation. Recheck fasteners after initial mileage.
