Left Hand Drive (LHD) only
As fitted to the 911 SC RS by the Porsche factory, a balance beam brake system works by allowing precise distribution of the braking forces between the front and rear axles by adjusting the brake beam. This allows the maximum braking performance for the vehicle.
If using upgraded (from standard) brake calipers with different piston sizes, different pads or larger brake discs the braking force to the respective axles can be altered so a balance beam brake system should be used. Brake calipers with increased piston sizes can also lead to a "soft" brake pedal and the balance beam brake system prevents this.
The balance beam systems has two brake master cylinders mounted in parallel on a bracket that allows precise adjustment between the front and rear axles.

As fitted to the 2.8 RSR and 3.0 RSR by the Porsche factory, a balance beam brake system works by allowing precise distribution of the braking forces between the front and rear axles by adjusting the brake beam. This allows the maximum braking performance for the vehicle.

If you don't want to make any changes to the bodywork, or originality is not so important to you, use the balance arm brake system of the 911 SC RS (item number 91142305401/1).

Fits:

Porsche 914 - 1970 to 1976
With brake beam brake pedal installation
Kit Contains:
• Brake fluid reservoirs with clamps x 2
• Connecting hoses between the reservoir and master brake cylinder with suitable clamps
• Connections on the master brake cylinder on the inlet side,
• Adapter to M10x1 thread for the brake light switch
• Pressure-switching brake light switch
• Distribution piece for the front brake circuit (if necessary, the switch can be installed at this point)
• Copper sealing rings x 4
With the standard pedals, the brake light switch is actuated mechanically by the brake pedal, which is no longer possible with the balance arm brake system.
This necessitates hydraulic actuation, which is easily integrated into the brake line using a connector and a pressure-triggering brake light switch.

OEMatch Pedals, Floor Boards & Track Mats (LHD) — Fit, Finish, Comfort
OEMatch supplies parts for Porsche models used to improve driver control and protect the footwell in LHD cars. This selection covers motorsport-style pedals, reinforced floor boards and track mats intended for track preparation, restoration or everyday use while preserving pedal alignment and grip.
Available Types
- Aluminium pedal sets with anti-slip surfaces
- Stainless steel heel plates and footrest panels
- Reinforced track mats and heavy-duty heel plates for circuit use
Understanding OEMatch Pedals, Floor Boards & Track Mats
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by the same company that produced your Porsche’s original pedals, floor boards and track mats.
OE (Original Equipment) refers to parts matching original specifications for the pedals, floor boards and track mats and may be supplied by alternative manufacturers. Aftermarket parts offer alternative options, sometimes with enhanced features or better value. OEMatch supplies non-OEM pedals, floor boards and track mats engineered as direct-fit alternatives to OEM parts, made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances for Porsche models.
OEMatch catalogues thousands of related items for Porsche upkeep and restoration, including over 4,000 part numbers and more than 8,700 documented OE cross-references, and continues to develop new lines to support model coverage.
Benefits Include
- Restores precise pedal feel and secure, non-slip footing
- Protects carpets and floor panels from wear and debris
- Offers motorsport-grade materials that resist heat, pressure and abrasion
Why Pedals, Floor Boards & Track Mats (LHD) Wear and Fail
- Corrosion and material fatigue from heat, moisture and road salt
- Surface wear and loss of grip from repeated use or abrasive debris
- Damage or loss of mounting rigidity due to vibration, impact or degraded fixings
The Importance of Replacing with OEMatch Pedals, Floor Boards & Track Mats
Timely replacement or upgrade preserves pedal feedback, improves safety under high-load driving and prevents progressive damage to the footwell structure. Choosing materials suited to track or racing environments reduces the risk of sudden failure and keeps pedal geometry consistent for predictable control.
Advantages
- Direct-fit designs for common Porsche LHD models
- Choice of lightweight or heavy-duty materials to suit road or track use
- Easy integration with existing pedal assemblies and heel plates
Support & Advice
Many owners can fit these parts at home using basic hand tools. Check alignment and fixing points before removing the old part, protect paintwork with masking tape, and confirm the correct mounting clips, pins or seals. Avoid drilling new holes. If you are unsure, seek professional help.
