This gearbox mount set includes the rear left and right mounts, positioned at an angle on the side of the gearbox, as well as the two front round rubber mounts. Even without visible damage the aging rubber in the bearing block can become porous, causing unwanted play in the transmission within its holder.

The transmission mount helps hold the manual gearbox in place, ensuring it stays securely positioned under side load and torque. It also absorbs engine and drivetrain vibration, preventing it from transmitting into the cabin or other chassis components. By maintaining proper transmission alignment, it supports smooth gear shifting and reduces stress on linkage and drivetrain parts.
Fits:
Porsche 356 1.1-2.0L 08/1950 - 04/1965
Diagram ref no 49
Installed between the transmission housing and the vehicle’s chassis or subframe, this mount:
• Secures the manual transmission in its correct position
• Dampens vibration and noise from the drivetrain
• Helps maintain accurate drivetrain alignment
• Reduces wear on surrounding mounts, brackets, and hardware

OEMatch Gearbox Mounts — Engagement, Smoothness, Control
OEMatch gearbox mounts for Porsche models reduce drivetrain vibration and help maintain transmission alignment under load. OEMatch gearbox mounts are compatible replacements engineered to original-spec dimensions and tolerances — a practical option when genuine or OEM parts are unavailable. Use these mounts to restore refined gearshift feel and to protect adjacent drivetrain components.
Available Types
- Rubber-mounted gearbox mount for road use
Understanding OEMatch Gearbox Mounts
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by the same company that produced your Porsche’s original gearbox mounts.
OE (Original Equipment) refers to parts matching original specifications for the gearbox mounts and may be supplied by alternative manufacturers. Aftermarket parts offer alternative options, sometimes with enhanced features or better value. OEMatch supplies non-OEM gearbox mounts engineered as direct-fit alternatives to OEM parts, made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances for Porsche models.
Gearbox mounts secure the transmission to the chassis while isolating vibration and absorbing torque movement. They control drivetrain movement under acceleration, braking and cornering and help maintain driveshaft and linkage alignment. When mounts deteriorate, you may notice clunking, increased vibration or harsher shifting; prolonged movement can place additional load on exhaust, shafts and linkage components.
Benefits Include
- Restores smooth, vibration-reduced gear changes
- Maintains correct driveshaft and linkage alignment
- Reduces stress on transmission and adjacent components
Why Gearbox Mounts Wear and Fail
- Rubber deterioration and cracking from heat and age
- Oil contamination that softens mount compounds
- Fatigue or fluid loss in hydraulic-mounted designs
The Importance of Replacing with OEMatch Gearbox Mounts
Replacing worn gearbox mounts restores drivetrain stability and smoother shifting, reducing noise, vibration and harshness that affects comfort and control. Timely replacement helps prevent secondary damage to exhaust, linkage and driveshaft fittings and supports predictable throttle response and handling on Porsche models.
Advantages
- Replacement rubber and reinforced designs for varied use
- Options suitable for classic and modern Porsche models
- Direct-fit alternatives made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances
