Diagram Ref No 11
It regulates transmission oil pressure to control clutch engagement and gear selection, helping maintain smooth, precise and responsive gear changes.
Confirm compatibility using the vehicle VIN and Porsche parts catalogue before ordering. Not suitable for manual transmissions.
What Does It Do?
The PDK valve body directs pressurised transmission oil through internal hydraulic passages to operate the gearbox clutches and gear selection mechanisms.
Working with the electronic transmission control system, it helps deliver rapid, consistent gear changes.
What Is PTV Plus?
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus combines selective rear-wheel braking with an electronically controlled rear differential lock to improve traction, stability and cornering performance.
The 9G131701535 valve body is specified for compatible PDK gearboxes used with this configuration. It is not a standalone PTV Plus differential control unit.
Why Is It Important?
A correctly functioning valve body is essential for reliable PDK operation.
A faulty unit may cause:
- Harsh or delayed gear changes
- Jerking or hesitation during acceleration
- Difficulty selecting Drive or Reverse
- Irregular clutch engagement
- Hydraulic pressure faults
- Gearbox warning messages
Why Does It Fail?
Common causes include:
- Contaminated or deteriorated transmission oil
- Blocked hydraulic passages
- Worn or sticking internal valves
- Hydraulic pressure regulation problems
- Electrical or solenoid faults
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement may be necessary when diagnostic testing confirms a valve body fault, hydraulic pressure problems are traced to the unit or internal damage is identified.
Always investigate other possible transmission faults before replacing the valve body.
Checks & Installation
Check gearbox fault codes, transmission oil condition and hydraulic pressure before installation.
Replacement should be carried out by a Porsche PDK specialist. Transmission fluid servicing, diagnostic checks and gearbox adaptation procedures may be required after fitting.
