*NOTE: This clutch assembly is compatible only with 991 GT3 RS models manufactured on or before January 28, 2018. For vehicles produced from January 29, 2018 onward, a different part number is required.
Offering an alternative to the Genuine Porsche assembly, it helps restore smooth clutch engagement and efficient power transfer when the original unit becomes worn or damaged.
Compatibility depends on the transmission code and production date. Not all PDK variants use the same clutch assembly. Confirm fitment against the vehicle VIN and Porsche parts catalogue before ordering.
What Does It Do?
The PDK clutch assembly controls the transfer of engine power into the gearbox.
Unlike a conventional manual clutch, the PDK transmission uses two electronically controlled clutches to operate alternating gear sets, allowing the next gear to be prepared before the current gear is disengaged.
This provides fast gear changes with minimal interruption to power delivery.
Why Is It Important?
A properly functioning clutch assembly is essential for smooth acceleration, reliable gear engagement and consistent transmission performance.
A worn or faulty assembly may cause:
- Jerking or shuddering when pulling away
- Clutch slipping during acceleration
- Delayed engagement of Drive or Reverse
- Harsh or inconsistent gear changes
- PDK gearbox warning messages
Why Does It Fail?
Possible causes include:
- Normal clutch friction wear
- Repeated high-load driving
- Excessive gearbox temperatures
- Contaminated or deteriorated transmission oil
- Internal mechanical damage
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement may be required when diagnostic testing identifies excessive clutch wear, slipping or internal damage.
The assembly should also be inspected during major PDK gearbox repairs or transmission rebuilding.
Checks & Installation
Inspect the gearbox, clutch housing and related seals before installation.
Fitting requires specialist PDK transmission knowledge and suitable workshop equipment. Gearbox oil servicing, diagnostic checks and clutch adaptation procedures may be necessary after replacement.
Key Features
- Supports smooth clutch engagement and power transfer
- Suitable for selected Boxster, Cayman and 911 models
- Replacement for worn or damaged clutch assemblies
- Intended for specialist gearbox repairs
Porsche PDK Clutch Assemblies & Dual-Clutch Transmission Parts
Porsche PDK transmissions use a dual-clutch system to deliver rapid gear changes and smooth power transfer. Over time, clutch wear or internal damage can affect transmission performance and driving comfort.
