This replacement pipe provides a dedicated oil flow path within the gearbox cooling circuit, allowing transmission oil to reach the cooling system where excess heat can be managed.
An economical aftermarket alternative to the original Porsche component, it is ideal for replacing a leaking, corroded or damaged supply pipe.
For PDK transmission applications only. Not suitable for manual gearbox installations.
What Does It Do?
The oil cooler supply pipe transports transmission oil from the PDK gearbox towards the cooling circuit.
As the gearbox operates, friction and internal mechanical activity produce heat. The transmission cooling system helps remove excess heat by passing oil through a heat exchanger.
The supply pipe forms the feed side of this system, delivering oil for cooling before it continues through the return circuit.
Why Is It Important?
A dependable oil supply is essential for keeping the PDK transmission within its intended operating temperature range.
A faulty supply pipe may cause:
- Transmission oil escaping from damaged pipework
- Reduced oil volume within the cooling system
- Oil staining beneath the vehicle
- Insufficient oil circulation through the heat exchanger
- Increased risk of gearbox overheating or damage
Maintaining the condition of the supply pipe helps preserve the performance and reliability of the transmission cooling circuit.
Why Do Oil Cooler Supply Pipes Fail?
The pipe is exposed to changing temperatures, vibration and environmental conditions throughout its service life.
Deterioration can occur through:
- Corrosion from road moisture and salt
- Fatigue caused by repeated heating and cooling
- Damage to pipe connections or sealing surfaces
- Contact with surrounding mechanical components
- Accidental damage during transmission repairs
When Should It Be Replaced?
Renew the supply pipe if inspection reveals corrosion, cracks, deformation or oil seepage around its connections.
Replacement may also be necessary when carrying out repairs to the PDK gearbox cooling system, particularly if the original pipe cannot be safely reused.
Investigate any unexplained gearbox oil loss immediately to avoid possible transmission damage.
Installation Notes
Before installation, examine the heat exchanger connections, sealing rings and pipe retaining hardware.
Ensure the replacement supply pipe follows the correct routing and is securely fitted without twisting or placing stress on the connections.
Use the correct transmission oil and follow Porsche's specified PDK filling, temperature checking and oil level procedures. Inspect for leaks after installation.
