What This Product Does
This flexible coolant connection carries fluid through the vehicle's cooling circuit. Its condition and the sealing of its connections matter when investigating coolant loss.
Functions
- Provides a coolant passage between connected pipework.
- Accommodates movement within the hose connection.
- Helps contain coolant when correctly fitted and sealed.
Symptoms of Fault
- Falling coolant level or repeated low-level warnings.
- Sweet odour, damp connections or deposits around hose ends.
- Coolant collecting on the undertray.
- Cracking, swelling, soft patches or rubbing damage.
- Gurgling or an increasing temperature reading.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a deteriorated or leaking hose addresses a potential source of coolant loss. Inspect adjoining pipes, retaining clips, seals and supports so that worn connections or rubbing do not remain unresolved. OE Match develops replacement parts around Porsche applications, with specification checks and sample evaluation forming part of its programme.
FAQs
Why might coolant disappear without leaving a puddle?
Escaping fluid can collect on an undertray or evaporate from warm surfaces.
How can a suspected leak be located?
A cooling-system pressure test and inspection of the hose connections can help identify seepage.
What should be checked before fitting?
Confirm the vehicle application and reference, then inspect neighbouring fittings and supports for damage or wear.
