This set of 18 rubber sealing rings (thrust rings) is used in the timing-chain assembly of Porsche 911 (964) and 911 (993) models. Each seal is manufactured to the same dimensions, material quality, and performance standards as the original Porsche part, ensuring perfect OE fit and reliable sealing around the timing-chain cover studs and bolts.
SET OF 18
Fits:
Porsche 964 - 1989 to 1994
Porsche 964 turbo 3.6ltr - 1991 to 1994
Porsche 993 - 1994 to 1997
Diagram ref no 17
• Includes: Set of 18 rubber sealing plugs – enough for one vehicle.
• Position: Located on the timing-chain cover / chain case, around stud or bolt interfaces.
• Function: Provides a secure oil-tight seal at the stud/bolt interface, preventing oil leaks and blocking moisture or dirt ingress into the chain case.
Over time, rubber seals can harden or deform from heat and oil exposure, leading to minor leaks or contamination in the chain-case area. Replacing all seals during engine service or overhaul ensures optimal sealing integrity and proper lubrication of timing components.
Recommended Replacement:
• Whenever the timing-chain cover or chain-case is removed or serviced.
• When oil seepage or residue is visible around chain-case bolts or studs.
• During carburettor or gasket replacement, or any full engine rebuild.
• When replacing timing components to ensure complete reassembly sealing.

The rubber sealing ring (thrust ring) used in the timing-chain assembly of Porsche 911 (964) and 911 (993) models. Its manufactured to the same dimensions, material quality, and performance standards as the original Porsche part. It installs directly without modification, restoring a perfect seal around the timing-chain cover studs/bolts.

Fits:
Porsche 964 C2 / C4 / Turbo 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1995 - 1998
Diagram ref no 17
• Position: It is located on the timing-chain cover / chain case, around stud/bolt interfaces.
• Function: Provides a tight seal around the stud/bolt interface of the timing-chain cover or chain-case, preventing oil escape and blocking the ingress of dirt or moisture.
Over time, rubber seals degrade (due to heat, oil exposure, age) and lose their ability to keep a perfect seal. When this ring is worn or flattened, oil can seep or leak from the chain-case cover, or contaminants may ingress. A leak here may lead to oil loss, dirty chain-case internals, poor lubrication of the chain or guides, and increased wear or noise in the timing system.
Replace this rubber sealing when:
• Whenever the timing-chain cover or chain-case is removed or serviced.
• If you observe oil seeping from around the cover bolt/stud area, or notice oil spots, chain case cover looseness or cover gasket replacement being unavoidable.
• As part of routine engine rebuilds or maintenance where timing cover is accessed.
• When performing an engine overhaul or replacing timing components – replacing all seals ensures full integrity upon reassembly.

OEMatch Timing covers and gaskets — Durability, Sealing, Performance
These timing covers and gaskets are intended for Porsche models and protect the engine’s timing assembly from oil loss, contamination and heat. Correct sealing maintains lubrication and oil pressure while preventing debris ingress that can accelerate wear to camshafts, crankshafts and timing chains.
Available Types
- Complete timing cover assemblies
- Gasket sets and primary seals
- Sealant kits and fixing hardware
Understanding OEMatch Timing covers and gaskets
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by the same company that produced your Porsche’s original timing covers and gaskets.
OE (Original Equipment) refers to parts matching original specifications for the timing covers and gaskets and may be supplied by alternative manufacturers. Aftermarket parts offer alternative options, sometimes with enhanced features or better value. OEMatch supplies non-OEM timing covers and gaskets engineered as direct-fit alternatives to OEM parts, made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances for Porsche models.
Timing covers shield the engine’s timing components and, together with their gaskets, form a sealed environment that keeps oil contained, supports correct oil pressure and prevents contaminants from accelerating wear. Proper materials and correct installation are central to long service life.
Benefits Include
- Reliable sealing to reduce the risk of oil leaks
- Protection for timing chains, gears and associated bearings
- Materials chosen for resistance to heat and oil exposure
Why Timing covers and gaskets Wear and Fail
- Gasket hardening and shrinkage after prolonged heat exposure
- Cracks or distortion of covers from impacts or improper installation
- Poor sealing caused by uneven torque, old sealant or contaminated mating faces
The Importance of Replacing with OEMatch Timing covers and gaskets
Replacing worn or leaking timing covers and gaskets restores the engine’s sealed environment, preventing oil loss and contamination that can lead to accelerated wear or component failure. For Porsche models, correct sealing preserves lubrication pathways and helps maintain the timing system’s reliability during high load or long-term use. Choosing correctly sized covers, compatible gaskets and recommended fasteners reduces the risk of repeat leaks after service.
Advantages
- Direct-fit replacements engineered to match original dimensions and tolerances
- Options to suit restoration, rebuild or routine service needs
- Parts drawn from extensive Porsche references to support multiple model years
