What this kit does
Renewing the complete steering linkage helps restore precise steering response and correct front wheel geometry where existing components have developed wear or excessive play. Replacing the inner and outer tie rods together also provides an opportunity to renew the steering rack bellows, helping protect the new components and steering rack from contamination.
Functions:
• Complete steering repair kit for both sides
• Includes left and right inner tie rods
• Includes left and right outer tie rods with ball joints
• Includes tie rod retaining nuts
• Includes TRW steering rack bellows with clamps
• Helps restore accurate steering response
• Helps eliminate excessive steering play
• Supports correct front wheel alignment
• Helps reduce knocking and looseness from worn steering joints
• Protects the steering rack and inner joints from dirt and moisture
• Suitable for a complete front steering linkage overhaul.
Why Replace the Steering Components?
Inner and outer tie rods are exposed to continual steering movement, suspension loads, vibration and road impacts. Their joints can gradually develop wear and play, affecting steering accuracy and wheel alignment. Steering rack bellows can also split, crack or deteriorate with age, allowing water and contamination to reach the inner joints and steering rack.
Common symptoms can include:
• Loose or vague steering
• Knocking or clunking from the front axle
• Excessive play in the steering linkage
• Uneven or accelerated tyre wear
• Difficulty maintaining wheel alignment
• Damaged or split steering rack bellows
• Play detected during servicing or inspection
• Replacing the complete set allows both sides of the steering system to be refreshed together.
Where it fits on the car
The components fit within the front steering rack and steering linkage assembly, connecting the steering rack to the left and right front wheel assemblies.

The steering rack controls the front wheels by means of two track rods, terminated by replaceable joints - the "Track Rod Ends", attached to the swivel hubs. These will eventually wear, leading to problems with steering and handling, as well as being a failure point on the UK MOT and presumably on the statutory inspections in other countries.

What this kit does
Replacing both track rods helps restore accurate steering response and eliminates excessive play caused by worn ball joints or steering rod components. Renewing both sides together is particularly useful during a front steering overhaul and provides a consistent level of wear and performance across the front axle.
Functions
• Replaces both front steering track rods
• Includes two track rods with ball joints
• Covers left and right sides
• Transfers steering movement from the steering rack to the wheels
• Helps restore accurate steering response
• Helps maintain correct front wheel alignment
• Reduces steering play caused by worn joints
• Helps address knocking or looseness in the steering linkage
• Suitable for steering and front suspension overhaul
Why Replace the Track Rods?
The track rod ball joints are subject to constant movement, road impacts, vibration and contamination. Over time, the joints can wear and develop excessive play.
Common symptoms of worn track rods can include:
• Loose or vague steering
• Knocking or clunking from the front axle
• Excessive play in the steering system
• Uneven tyre wear
• Poor or unstable wheel alignment
• Reduced steering precision
• Wear identified during inspection or servicing
Replacing both track rods as a pair helps restore consistent steering performance across the front axle.
Where it fits on the car
The track rods fit between the steering rack and front wheel steering assemblies. This kit provides one track rod for each side of the vehicle.
