The Rear Indicator Housing and is an OE Match replacement rear lamp assembly for selected Porsche 924, 924 S and 944 models without a rear fog lamp.
Fits:- Porsche 924 / 924 S 1977-88
- Porsche 944 1982-91
The assembly combines the rear indicator housing and lens, restoring the original-style rear lighting arrangement when the existing unit has become cracked, faded, damaged or affected by moisture ingress.
These housings are specifically intended for vehicles without the rear fog-lamp configuration. Cars equipped with a rear fog lamp use different lamp housings and should not use these references.
What This Product Does:
The rear indicator housing forms part of the vehicle's rear lighting system.
Its primary functions are to:
- House the rear indicator bulb and electrical components
- Provide a correctly coloured and shaped indicator lens
- Make turning intentions visible to following traffic
- Protect the bulb and electrical contacts from water and dirt
- Position the light correctly within the rear body panel
- Maintain the original appearance of the rear lighting assembly
- Help seal the lamp components from weather and road contamination
The housing and lens work together to ensure that the indicator signal is clearly visible and correctly directed.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Common signs that the rear indicator housing may require replacement include:
Cosmetic deterioration alone may not stop the indicator working, but cracks and seal failure can allow moisture to enter and eventually cause electrical problems.
Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged rear indicator housing should not be ignored because it can compromise both visibility and weather protection.
Replacement helps restore:
- Clear indicator visibility
- Secure bulb installation
- Protection against moisture
- Correct lamp alignment
- Reliable electrical operation
- Original rear-light appearance
It can also help prevent continuing corrosion of bulb contacts and wiring caused by water entering through damaged plastic or seals.
