We strongly recommend replacing the power steering pump at the same time as the steering rack. Swarf (metal particles) in the power steering system can circulate and cause damage to both components. If you choose to replace only the steering rack and, upon return of your exchange unit, we discover that the rack bar is scored or contaminated with swarf, this indicates that debris is present in the system. In such cases, we advise replacing the pump as well.
Please note: if we have advised that there is swarf in the system and you choose not to replace both components, any future warranty claims related to this issue will not be valid.
All racks come with 2 Years warranty!!

OEMatch Steering Racks — Fit, Function, Confidence
OEMatch supplies steering racks for Porsche models, chosen for servicing, restoration and upgrades. The steering rack converts steering-wheel rotation into lateral wheel movement; a correctly functioning rack supports accurate tracking, steering feel and vehicle stability in everyday driving and more demanding use.
Available Types
- Manual steering racks
- Hydraulic power-assisted racks
- Electric power-assisted racks
Understanding OEMatch Steering Racks
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by the same company that produced your Porsche’s original steering racks. OE (Original Equipment) refers to parts matching original specifications for the steering racks and may be supplied by alternative manufacturers. Aftermarket parts offer alternative options, sometimes with enhanced features or better value. OEMatch supplies non-OEM steering racks engineered as direct-fit alternatives to OEM parts, made to original-spec dimensions and tolerances for Porsche models. The steering rack assembly houses the rack and pinion, seals and mounting interfaces; it transmits driver input from the steering wheel into controlled wheel movement and works with the remainder of the steering system to help maintain tracking and feedback.
Benefits Include
- Restores precise steering response and reduces play
- Eliminates fluid leaks where present and restores predictable effort
- Supports accurate tracking and consistent tyre wear by maintaining correct geometry
Why Steering Racks Wear and Fail
- Seal deterioration leading to fluid loss and internal wear
- Corrosion or pitting on internal rack surfaces
- Contaminated fluid or debris causing accelerated wear
The Importance of Replacing with OEMatch Steering Racks
Maintaining a serviceable steering rack is important for control and safety on any Porsche. Worn or leaking racks can introduce play, uneven steering effort or unpredictable handling. Replacing a defective rack restores intended steering behaviour and reduces the risk of secondary damage to associated steering and suspension components; check mounting points, seals and fasteners during replacement.
Advantages
- Available across manual, hydraulic and electric formats to suit model requirements
- Direct-fit alternatives engineered to match original dimensions and tolerances
- Options suitable for routine servicing, refurbishment or performance restoration
