- Porsche 964 (911) C2 1989-93
- Porsche 964 (911) C4 1989-93
Shock absorbers rear strut and mounting kit for the rear of Porsche 964 models from 1988 - 90 by OE Match, covering 964 (911) Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 applications and allowing multiple rear suspension components to be renewed together for consistent fit and behaviour.
What This Product Does This OE Match kit provides the key rear damper and strut mounting components so the rear shock absorbers are correctly located on the Porsche 964 chassis. It supports proper damper alignment, helps manage noise and vibration from the rear suspension, and reduces the likelihood of premature wear caused by tired mounts, bump stops or hardware. OE Match focuses on parts designed to mirror original specification, helping maintain reliable fitment on ageing 964 models.
Kit Includes:
2 x Shock absorber strut mounting (96433306404)
2 x Rear shock absorber (96433305700)
2 x Hexagon nut (99908462101)
4 x Thrust ring (96433351701)
2 x Shock absorber top mount rubber insert (96433306903)
2 x Shock absorber bump stop (92833351810)
2 x Shock absorber dust cover (96433350201)
2 x Washer (91133351100)
2 x Shock absorber supporting cover (92833355100)
Functions
- Mounts the rear shock absorber securely to the body and suspension
- Helps control damper movement and impact loads through the rear axle
- Supports correct operation of the rear suspension geometry
- Assists in reducing knocks, rattles and harsh impacts from the rear damper area
- Provides matched mounts, bump stops, covers and hardware for the rear shocks
Symptoms of Fault
- Knocking or rattling noises from the rear suspension area
- Harsh or sharp impacts over bumps where bump stops or mounts have deteriorated
- Unsettled, vague or unstable feel from the rear of the vehicle
- Visible cracking, perishing or distortion in rear shock mounts, inserts or hardware
- Signs of premature rear damper wear or movement at the mounting points
Why Replacement Matters Rear damper mounting parts on the 964 are often refreshed at the same time as new rear shock absorbers to avoid reusing aged top mounts, bushes or hardware that can undermine damping control. An OE Match kit allows several related rear suspension parts to be replaced together so components are compatible with each other and with the intended Porsche specification. This approach can help maintain consistent rear axle behaviour on both Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 models as they age, while reducing the chance that worn supporting parts cause noise or accelerated wear on new dampers.

FAQs
- Q: Is this type of kit vehicle-specific?
A: Kits of this kind are usually specified for particular Porsche models and production years, so confirm coverage for your 964 (including model year and Carrera 2/Carrera 4 variant) before use. - Q: Does a kit like this normally include all one-time-use hardware?
A: Not in every case. Use the listed or supplied contents to verify whether additional bolts, clips or other hardware need to be sourced separately. - Q: Any installation tip for suspension kits on a 964?
A: Compare the kit contents against the relevant Porsche PET diagram and your planned work so you know exactly which mounts and fixings are included and what else you may wish to renew while access is available.
