Air conditioner series resistor
Air-conditioner series resistor is designed for the HVAC blower control in the Porsche 928 series. Installed within the climate-control system, this resistor pack provides multiple steps of electrical resistance, enabling the blower motor to run at different fan speeds (low, medium, high). Built to match Porsche’s original specification.

• Position on Vehicle: Within the HVAC unit - typically mounted near the blower motor or inside the footwell dash area, functioning as the speed-control resistor pack for the A/C blower.
• Part Numbers / References: OE references 928-616-101-00 or superseded 928-618-101-01.
• Applications: Suitable when the blower motor is stuck at one speed (typically high only), blower fails on low/medium speeds, or after servicing blower motor or climate control system.
While compact, the A/C blower resistor plays a vital role: degraded or failed resistors commonly cause the blower to be stuck on high only or no low/medium speeds - impacting comfort, defrost performance and cabin ventilation.
