Designed to replace worn, cracked, damaged or missing original trim, this component helps restore the appearance of the heater control assembly while maintaining the distinctive factory-style interior finish.
After decades of use, original heater control surrounds can become brittle, discoloured or damaged, particularly during dashboard repairs and restoration work.
The OE Match replacement provides a practical solution for refreshing the heater control area without replacing the complete heating and ventilation control assembly.
What Does the Heater Control Surround Trim Do?
The heater control surround trim provides a finishing piece around the heating and ventilation control area.
It helps maintain a neat, original-style appearance and complements the surrounding dashboard or control assembly.
Although the trim does not directly operate the heating system, it forms an important part of the interior's appearance and overall finish.
Why Does It Fail?
Original heater control trim components can deteriorate over time due to age, heat, sunlight and repeated handling.
Common causes of damage include:
- Age-related cracking and brittleness
- Fading or discolouration from sunlight
- Damage during dashboard removal or repairs
- Broken or worn mounting points
- General deterioration after decades of use
- Incorrect fitting or previous restoration work
A damaged surround can leave the heater control area looking incomplete or poorly finished.
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended when the original heater control surround becomes cracked, loose, damaged or missing.
Common signs include:
- Visible cracks or splits
- Broken or damaged edges
- Loose or poorly fitting trim
- Discoloured or deteriorated surfaces
- Missing trim following dashboard repairs
- An untidy or incomplete heater control assembly
Replacement is also worthwhile during a dashboard refurbishment, heater control overhaul or complete classic Porsche interior restoration.
Installation Notes
Carefully remove the original trim without damaging the surrounding heater controls or dashboard components.
Inspect the mounting area for broken fixings, damaged control levers or deteriorated surrounding trim before installation.
Position the replacement surround correctly and ensure it is securely fitted without forcing or distorting the component.
Following installation, check that the heater and ventilation controls operate freely.
This product is a replacement trim component only and does not repair faults within the heating or ventilation control mechanism.
Porsche 911, 912 & 914 Heater Control Surrounds and Interior Restoration Parts
The heating and ventilation controls fitted to classic Porsche 911, 912 and 914 models are distinctive features of their original interior design.
Over time, surrounding trim components can become cracked, brittle, faded or damaged, affecting the appearance of the dashboard and heater control assembly.
This OE Match Heater Control Surround Trim provides an original-style replacement for compatible classic Porsche heater control arrangements, making it a useful component for routine interior refurbishment or complete vehicle restoration.
Replacing deteriorated heater control trim helps maintain the original appearance of the dashboard while preserving serviceable heating and ventilation controls.
