The cylinder head plug seals an opening in the cylinder head to help prevent oil, coolant, or pressure loss where applicable. A correctly fitted plug is important for maintaining engine sealing integrity and reliable operation
Functions
• Replaces the cylinder head plug
• Helps seal the cylinder head assembly
• Supports correct engine sealing
• Helps prevent leaks from worn or damaged plugs
• Suitable for cylinder head service or engine rebuild work
• Replaces corroded, loose, damaged, or previously removed plugs
• OE Match replacement for Porsche engine repair.
Why Replace This Part?
Cylinder head plugs can corrode, loosen, leak, become damaged, or require replacement during cylinder head overhaul. A failed or incorrectly sealing plug may cause fluid leakage, pressure loss, contamination, or engine bay residue. Replacing the plug helps restore proper sealing and supports reliable engine operation.
When to Replace This Part
• Cylinder head service or engine rebuild is being carried out
• The original plug is leaking, corroded, loose, or damaged
• The plug has been removed during machining or repair
• Oil or coolant seepage is visible around the plug area
• Engine sealing components are being refreshed
• Preventative replacement is required during restoration
• The vehicle is undergoing Porsche 928, 944, or 968 engine repair.
Where it fits on the car
This plug fits within the engine cylinder head assembly. Exact position can vary depending on model, engine type, and cylinder head layout.

What This Gasket Does:It seals the joint between the cylinder head and water hose or water neck / outlet flange, preventing coolant from leaking at that junction.
Helps maintain the cooling system integrity, making sure coolant flows properly through the head and out to the rest of the cooling circuit without leakage.
Prevents loss of coolant, overheating, or mixing of coolant with other engine areas (e.g. externally leaking coolant in engine bay).
Symptoms & Signs Of A Failing Gasket:
- Coolant leaks from around the cylinder head / hose junction at the water outlet area.
- Pooling coolant under the engine, especially after the car sits.
- Overheating or fluctuating engine temperature, if the cooling circuit loses pressure or leaks.
- Low coolant level without obvious reservoir leak.
- Evidence of corrosion or rust around the hose / flange / head joint, possibly greenish or whitish residue.
- Wetness (coolant drips) along the head surface under hose connections.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Prevents Coolant Leaks
- Maintains Cooling Efficiency
- Protects Against Costly Repairs
- Prevents Corrosion & Residue
