Droplink fastening nut by OE Match is a VM 10 lock nut for specific 911 Cabriolet engine-mounting and 968 rear-axle applications.
Fits
- Porsche Boxster 986/987/981 (1997-2016)
- Porsche 911 Cabriolet: 1978–83, 1984–86 and 1987–89
- Porsche 968: 1992-95.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.
What This Product Does
This nut retains the threaded fastening at the relevant droplink connection. The same part number appears in other assemblies, so its intended mounting position must be checked against the vehicle and repair being undertaken.
Functions
- Provides fastening retention at the specified connection.
- Serves as replacement hardware when the original nut is unsuitable for refitting.
Technical Details
- Part number: N90087601.
- Brand: OE Match.
- Supplied diagram designation: lock nut VM 10.
Symptoms of Fault
Knocking or rattling over uneven surfaces can warrant inspection of the droplink connections. Similar noises may originate from worn joints, bushes or other suspension components, so they do not establish that the nut itself is faulty.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing unsuitable fastening hardware forms part of a properly specified repair. Inspect the adjoining connection as well: replacing a nut will not resolve wear within a droplink joint or bush.
FAQs
Is this a complete droplink?
No. The product is the fastening nut, not the link or its bushes.
How should I confirm compatibility?
Match N90087601 to the required assembly and check the model-specific application before ordering.

Location: Front suspension, lower control arm (check side before ordering)
What this product does:
• Maintains wheel alignment and suspension geometry
• Absorbs suspension loads for smooth, controlled handling
• Provides a solid connection between the chassis and wheel hub
With age, control arms can bend, crack, or develop play in their ball joints and bushings. This leads to uneven tire wear, poor alignment, clunking noises, and vague steering feel. Replacing restores tight, precise suspension performance and brings back.
