What This Product Does
The throttle valve varies the intake opening to meter incoming air. On electronically controlled applications, its movement is managed by the engine control system in response to operating conditions and accelerator demand.
Functions
- Adjusts the intake airflow entering the engine.
- Supports airflow regulation during idling and changes in engine load.
- Provides the controlled throttle opening required by the engine-management system.

Symptoms of Fault
Possible signs include fluctuating idle speed, hesitation, stalling, delayed accelerator response, throttle-position faults or restricted-power operation. Intake leaks, wiring faults and other engine-management problems can produce similar symptoms, so diagnosis should establish the cause before replacement.
Why Replacement Matters
Replacement may be appropriate when contamination cannot be resolved by suitable cleaning, or inspection confirms mechanical wear or an electrical fault. Check adjoining intake connections, sealing surfaces and electrical terminals during the repair. OE Match focuses on Porsche replacement applications; matching the original reference remains essential.
FAQs
Will cleaning resolve the problem?
Cleaning may help when deposits interfere with movement. It will not repair worn components or failed electrical elements.
Is adaptation needed after installation?
Some applications require a throttle relearn. Follow the procedure specified for the individual vehicle.
Is a fault code enough to confirm failure?
No. Check wiring, air leaks and measured throttle operation alongside stored diagnostic information.
