It holds the upper end of the shock absorber in place, absorbs road shock, and helps reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) transmitted to the vehicle body and cabin. It also ensures that the suspension geometry remains consistent under load, preserving predictable handling and ride comfort.
Upper shock mounts endure continuous load, heat cycles, and vibration. Over time, the rubber and bonding materials in a mount can stiffen, crack, separate, or deteriorate. Symptoms of a worn shock mount include clunking, vibration, harsh ride quality, uneven tyre wear, and compromised suspension control. Replacing the mount with an OE Match component restores proper support and NVH isolation, which helps prolong the life of the shock absorbers themselves and preserves the original driving dynamics.
When to replace:
• Noticeable squeaks or clunking from suspension under load
• Vibration or harshness transmitted into the cabin
