What This Product Does
The sensor forms part of the brake pad wear warning circuit, providing an indication when pad replacement is required. It is a monitoring component rather than a brake pad or braking-force upgrade.
Functions
Provides the electrical connection for pad wear detection.
Supports the dashboard brake wear warning.
Allows renewal of a worn or damaged sensor during brake servicing.
Technical Details
Supplied references: 99160917100 and 99160918100. Internal diagram entries identify 99160918100 as the pad wear indicator sender wire.
Symptoms of Fault
A brake wear message remaining after new pads are fitted, damaged sensor wiring or broken retaining clips warrant inspection. A warning alone does not establish that the sensor is faulty; pad condition and connections also need checking.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a worn or damaged sensor helps restore the pad wear warning circuit. Sensor replacement should normally accompany pad renewal, with the reference, connector, caliper specification and cable routing checked against the original component.
FAQs
Is this an axle set?
No. The supply unit is one wire sensor; diagram quantities describe the vehicle assembly, not pack contents.
Will it fit every listed model regardless of brake specification?
No. Confirm PCCB equipment, option codes and the relevant axle application before selecting the sensor.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.
