When installed in the window winder or crank handle, this conical spring provides the return tension that snaps the crank back to rest when rotated. It ensures smooth, consistent motion and proper alignment of the winding lever.
Over time, the factory spring can weaken, lose its shape, or corrode—leading to sloppiness in the crank handle, poor return action, or misalignment. A fresh OE Match replacement restores firm tension, precise motion, and long-term durability.
