This overhaul kit ensures your engine’s timing system is brought back to proper specification — chain, guides, rails, tensioning path — all refreshed in one package.

What These Products Do:
- The timing chain system synchronises the crankshaft and camshafts (and sometimes intermediate shafts) so that valves open/close at the correct times relative to piston position.
- The chain itself drives the cam from the crank or intermediate shaft. Guides/rails ensure the chain runs in the correct path, stays under tension, and minimises noise and wear.
- Over time, the chain can stretch, guides can wear or fracture, tensioners can lose preload — which leads to timing slack, chain noise, and in worst cases mis-timing or catastrophic engine damage.
- A full kit replacing the chain and guides resets the timing system back to proper specification — chain path, tension, alignment — thereby restoring performance, reliability, and longevity of the engine.
When You Should Consider Replacement:
- You hear rattling or clattering from the front of the engine (timing cover area) during start-up, idle or under load — a classic sign of chain slack.
- You experience poor engine performance, rough running or misfires linked to timing errors.
- The engine has high mileage or long service history with original timing components — wear is cumulative and replacing early can prevent failure.
- On inspection you find worn guides/rails (cracked plastic, split surfaces) or visible chain slack.
- You catch related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for camshaft timing or intermediate shaft etc.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Protects the engine: Timing chain failure can lead to valve-to-piston contact, major engine damage and huge cost. Replacing the chain system early is preventive.
- Restores correctly timed operation: With new chain/guides, your cam/valve timing is returned to spec; the engine runs smoother, more reliably, and with full power.
