O-ring seal for Joining socket for water pump housing, 28.00 x 4.50 mm
This OE Match coolant pipe O-ring seal is a replacement sealing ring used at the water pump housing and coolant pipe connection on Porsche 996 and 997 models. It is designed to match the original seal dimensions and provide a secure, leak-resistant fit within the engine cooling system.

The O-ring creates a tight seal between the coolant pipe/joining socket and the water pump housing. It prevents coolant from escaping at the connection point and helps maintain the correct pressure and flow within the cooling system.
Functions:
• Seals the coolant pipe connection at the water pump housing
• Helps prevent coolant leaks from the joint
• Maintains cooling system pressure
• Supports correct coolant flow around the engine
• Helps protect the engine from coolant loss and overheating
• Provides an OE Match replacement for the original sealing ring
• Suitable for use during water pump, coolant pipe, or joining socket service
Coolant O-rings are exposed to heat, pressure, coolant additives, and repeated engine temperature cycles. Over time, the seal can harden, flatten, crack, swell, or lose elasticity, which may cause coolant leaks around the water pump housing. Replacing the O-ring helps restore a reliable seal and is recommended whenever the connected coolant pipe or joining socket is removed.
When to Replace
• Coolant is leaking from the water pump housing connection
• The O-ring is flattened, brittle, cracked, swollen, or damaged
• The coolant pipe, joining socket, or water pump housing has been removed
• There is visible coolant residue or staining around the joint
• The cooling system is being repaired or pressure-tested
• The original seal no longer seats correctly
• As preventative maintenance during water pump or coolant pipe replacement
