The OE Match Jack Receiver Socket is a replacement structural jacking-point component for classic Porsche 911 models from 1974–1989.
Fits:- Porsche 911 1974-89
Diagram Ref No 10
Mounted within the sill/body structure, the receiver provides the correctly shaped engagement point for the factory-style Porsche jack. When the jack is inserted into the socket, lifting forces are transferred from the jack through the receiver and into the surrounding reinforced body structure.
Because the receiver is positioned low on the vehicle and close to the sill, it is particularly vulnerable to moisture, road contamination, corrosion and previous incorrect lifting. On older cars, corrosion may affect not only the visible socket but also the surrounding jack receiver bracket, inner sill and adjacent structural panels.
Replacing a corroded, distorted or damaged receiver helps restore correct jack engagement and forms an important part of proper sill and chassis restoration.
What This Product Does:
The jack receiver socket provides the engagement point for the original side-entry vehicle jack.
It is designed to:
- Accept the factory-style Porsche jack.
- Keep the jack correctly positioned during lifting.
- Transfer lifting force into the reinforced sill structure.
- Maintain the original jacking-point location.
- Provide secure engagement during wheel changes and maintenance.
- Replace a rusted, bent or damaged original receiver.
- Restore correct chassis geometry around the jacking point.
- Support period-correct body restoration.
- Allow the correct jacking-point plug to be fitted where applicable.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible signs of deterioration include:
- Visible rust around the receiver opening.
- Flaking or perforated metal.
- Heavy corrosion inside the socket.
- Receiver opening becoming distorted.
- Jack no longer fitting correctly.
- Jack fitting loosely in the socket.
- Jack becoming difficult to insert.
- Cracks around the receiver.
- Receiver appearing bent or twisted.
- Socket moving when pressure is applied.
- Separation from surrounding sill metal.
- Previous poor welding or patch repairs.
- Deformation caused by incorrect jacking.
- Corrosion around the adjacent sill.
- Crunching or flexing when the area is inspected.
- Paint bubbling around the jacking point.
- Rust staining emerging from seams.
Why Replacement Matters:
Replacing a damaged or corroded jack receiver helps restore:
- Correct factory-jack engagement.
- Proper jack positioning.
- Structural integrity at the jacking point.
- Correct load transfer into the sill.
- Original body geometry.
- Period-correct appearance.
- Reliable access for future servicing.
For a classic Porsche restoration, the jack receiver is both a functional structural component and an important detail of the original sill construction.
