What This Product Does
This intermediate layer fits within the front bumper assembly, providing a separating and sealing layer between adjoining components. It helps maintain the intended panel interface while cushioning direct contact between the bumper and surrounding bodywork.
Functions
- Fills the intended gap within the front bumper assembly
- Helps cushion contact between adjoining components
- Supports a neat and consistent bumper fit
- Helps limit dirt and moisture entering the panel joint
- Replaces a cracked, flattened or missing original seal
Technical Details
- Position: Front bumper
- Upper or lower - 2 of each required per vehicle. Sold each.
- Diagram ref no 52 (upper) or 53 (lower).
Symptoms of Fault
- Seal appears cracked, brittle or split
- Rubber has flattened or shrunk with age
- Visible gaps around the front bumper joint
- Seal is loose, distorted or missing
- Increased dirt collecting between adjoining panels
- Rubbing marks or movement around the bumper edge
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a deteriorated intermediate layer restores the separating cushion within the bumper assembly and helps the adjoining parts sit correctly. Replacement is particularly relevant during bumper removal, body repairs or restoration work, when aged seals may tear or no longer retain their original profile.
FAQs
- Is this supplied as an upper and lower pair? No. Select the required upper or lower version; each seal is supplied individually.
- How many are required? Two upper and two lower seals are required for a complete vehicle installation.
- When should these seals be renewed? Replace them if the rubber is cracked, hardened, flattened, distorted or missing, or when rebuilding the front bumper assembly.
- Does fitting require bumper removal? Access requirements depend on the work being carried out, but removal or loosening of bumper components may be necessary for correct positioning.
