A compromised head gasket/sealing ring can cause compression loss and leakage at the head-to-cylinder joint, often showing up as poor performance, combustion leakage symptoms, and increased thermal stress. Replacing these gaskets during top-end work ensures correct sealing and protects freshly machined sealing surfaces.
When to replace:
• During top-end rebuild, head removal, or cylinder service
• Compression/leak-down results indicate sealing issues
