What This Product Does
The gas strut assists bonnet lifting and provides support while the lid is open, allowing access to the front luggage compartment.
Functions
- Assists front bonnet opening.
- Supports the lid in its raised position.
Technical Details
- Supplied part reference: 99751155101.
- Component type: gas-pressure spring / gas-filled strut.
- Installation position: front bonnet.
- The supplied assembly diagrams specify two struts per vehicle; this does not establish pack quantity.
Symptoms of Fault
- The bonnet gradually sinks after opening, particularly in colder conditions.
- Lid movement becomes uneven or jerky.
- Oil traces appear on the strut.
- Knocking occurs as the bonnet moves.
Why Replacement Matters
A weakened strut can leave the bonnet feeling heavier or unable to remain raised. Replacing a worn damper addresses lost lid support; inspect the other strut and mounting points when assessing the fault.
FAQs
Is this a pair?
The diagrams show two fitted struts, but the supplied product information does not confirm whether one or two are included.
Are retaining clips included?
Clip contents are not specified. Confirm the required fittings before installation.
Is it suitable for a modified bonnet?
No suitability information is supplied for bonnets with altered weight. Check the required strut specification before fitting.

Front bonnet dampers set of 2 by OE Match for Porsche 991 (911), 981 Boxster/Cayman and 718 (982) Boxster/Cayman models, supplied as a pair for the front lid.
What This Product Does These front lid gas struts support and control the movement of the bonnet so it can be opened and closed smoothly and remain held in the raised position.
Functions
- Support the weight of the front bonnet during opening
- Control the bonnet lifting and closing movement
- Help keep the lid securely raised when open
- Assist in restoring factory-style bonnet operation after wear
Symptoms of Fault
- Bonnet slowly drops or will not stay open, especially in colder weather
- Jerky or uneven bonnet movement
- Visible oil misting or leakage on the damper body
- Knocking or clicking noises as the bonnet is raised or lowered
Why Replacement MattersFront bonnet dampers lose gas pressure over time, which can make the lid feel heavier and prone to dropping. Renewing them as a pair helps restore smooth, predictable bonnet operation and reduces the risk of relying on worn or inconsistent supports.
Fits
- Porsche 991 (911) MK1 2012–2016, including Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, GT3 RS and 911 R variants listed in the detailed fitment notes
- Porsche 981 Boxster 2012–2016, including 2.7 and S/GTS 3.4L models
- Porsche 981C Cayman 2013–2016, including S, GTS and GT4 3.8L
- Porsche 718 (982) Boxster 2017–onwards, 2.0 and S 2.5L (manual and PDK)
- Porsche 718 (982) Cayman 2017–onwards, 2.0 and S 2.5L (manual and PDK)
FAQs
- Are these supplied as a pair? Yes, this listing is for a set of two front bonnet dampers.
- Do they fit cars with standard bodywork? They are intended for vehicles within the listed model and year coverage; check for non-standard front-end modifications before ordering.
- Should both dampers be replaced together? It is generally recommended to renew bonnet struts in pairs to keep lift and support consistent side to side.
- Is special tooling required to install them? Fitting usually involves releasing the existing clip fixings and refitting the new units; many owners have this work carried out by a competent technician.
