What This Product Does
The pedal transfers movement from the driver's foot into the clutch operating mechanism. Pressing and releasing it allows the driver to disengage and re-engage the clutch when changing gear or moving away.
Functions
- Provides the driver's input to the clutch mechanism.
- Allows controlled clutch engagement and disengagement.
- Forms part of the vehicle's pedal assembly.
Technical Details
- Supplied part reference: 91142307706.
- Brand: OE Match.
- Configuration: left-hand drive (LHD).
- Component: clutch pedal, rather than a complete pedal cluster.
Symptoms of Fault
Inspect the pedal mechanism if movement becomes stiff, noisy or hesitant, if the pedal fails to return completely, or if noticeable sideways movement develops. Check the pedal arm and mounting area for cracks, distortion or wear. These symptoms can also originate in bushes, pins, springs or the clutch hydraulics, so diagnosis should precede replacement.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a damaged pedal addresses wear in the pedal itself during repair or restoration. Inspect the shaft, bushes, clevis connections and supporting bracket at the same time: replacing the pedal alone will not resolve wear elsewhere in the assembly. OE Match focuses on replacement components for Porsche applications.
FAQs
- Does a squeaking pedal always need replacement?
No. Inspect the pivots and bushes first, as wear or inadequate lubrication may be responsible. - Can the existing assembly be refurbished?
Depending on its condition, renewing worn bushes, pins or springs may be sufficient. A cracked or distorted pedal requires separate assessment. - What should be checked before installation?
Confirm the vehicle year, left-hand-drive layout and original reference, then inspect adjoining linkage and mounting components.
